What is Select Soccer???

The Philosophy of the Florence Soccer Association Select Program is to develop each player's technical skills and tactical knowledge of soccer.  We will achieve this philosophy through a positive training environment where winning games will be a byproduct of the player's development.  Each select coach will emphasize each player's technical and tactical development through the use of competitive small sided games.

  • Select Soccer is a competitive level of soccer.  Select teams play other select teams from through-out South Carolina.
  • Players should consider Select Soccer if they desire the highest level of competition.
  • Try-outs for Select Soccer teams are usually held in May for the following fall and spring seasons.
  • Try-out dates will be posted on www.flosoccer.org and in the Sunday Sports section of the Florence Morning News.
  • Fall season (all ages) runs from September - November.
  • Spring season (U14 and under) runs from February - May
  • Cost to try-out is $10.00 if pre-registered ($30.00 at try-outs).
  • Open to Ages U9 through U18 (age as of July 31).
  • Approximate cost is $300 - $500 per season plus travel expenses.

FSA President

The spring soccer season is well under way and we are excited to see all the players having fun.  We appreciate the opportunity to serve the families in this area.  Anyone interested in joining our effort to promote and improve soccer through the Florence Soccer Association would be very welcome. We particularly need parents of recreation players to step up and help keep the recreation league running. The FSA board current only has four members who have kids playing recreation soccer. Recreation soccer takes up the bulk of the time of the board so it is important that more recreation parents come out and help keep the league functioning. Board meetings are the first Monday of each month. Contact any board member for more information. Enjoy the rest of the season.
